For our local market, 2017 was indeed a great year. With a total of 435 residential sales which includes single family homes, condominiums, and townhomes (PUD’s), we saw a 5% increase in sales compared to 2016. Plus, the median sales price increased in all categories. Median sales price for houses and PUD’s increased by 5.8% and condos increased by 6.9%.
Our biggest challenge in 2017, which continues into this year, was the shortage of properties for sale, especially in certain segments. We had a lot of buyers willing to purchase a home but were unable to locate the right property. As we enter the new year, we are anticipating the market will continue to improve with strong buyer demand and low inventory.
